Of the more than 15,000 accelerators in existence around the world, only a handful are being used for elementary particle physics research, a few hundred in physics and applied physics research, and one third are involved in medical applications such as therapy, imaging and the production of short lived isotopes for treatment. The other two thirds are used in industrial applications such as micromachining, food sterilization, inspection of cargo and other national security areas.
The new design that Practical Physics Solutions now promotes provides advances
in all of the above mentioned areas. This is not possible with current
external radio-therapy facilities. Neither X-ray, gamma,
electron, neutron nor proton facilities have the ability to offer such
a well rounded program of research and indutrial support that we can
offer with a multi-ion machine.
Below the new facility Practical Physics Solutions, the Texas Institute for Preclinical Studies, and Texas A&M University are proposing to build at their College Station campus.
A welcoming environment with world-class researchers, scientists and oncologists utilizing the most current and effective methods of extinguishing cancer tumors.
State of the art cancer treatment center leading the way in the advancement of minimal intrusive radiation therapy.
Peace of mind knowing that they are in caring and capable hands.
Designing facility with the capability to rapidly change ion source; providing a wider range of resources available to particle, radiation, and health physics researchers and institutes.
The dedication of one or more treatment room to the pursuit of scientific discovery and further advancement of radiation therapy treatment will position the center to be on the cutting edge of new scientific discovery.
Supplemental revenue solicited from research institutes who can utilize the beam facilities 24 hours / 7 days a week.
